System Log
The System Log provides a record of computer and DLS-2 activity. The Time and Date
of each event are indicated, along with the Log On Name of the user and an event
description. Icons in the log window represent the type of event:
General Information
This icon indicates a typical system event, such as opening or closing the
software.
User Generated
This icon indicates user activity, such as opening accounts, programming
options, creating or deleting files, and so on.
Warning (Merits Attention)
This icon indicates a problem encountered during operation of the
software, such as the failure of the modem to initialize or other problems.
Unrecoverable Error
This icon indicates the occurrence of a serious problem that has interrupted
communications. For example, encountering an incorrect DLS Access
Code or connecting to the wrong panel type will cause Unrecoverable
Errors.
To display the Detailed Event Description window, double click on the event to be
reviewed.
The Detailed Event Description window
displays: the complete date of the event;
the part of the system that reported the
event; the importance of the event; a
description of the
event and additional
information
regarding the event. Use the
Back and Next keys to scroll through the
list of events.
Note that when the System Log
reaches 2400 events, the log will
automatically be backed up.
